The People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Suriname formally established diplomatic relations on May 28th 1976. In May 1977, the PRC opened its embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname. The Republic of Suriname reciprocated by opening its Beijing embassy in January of 1998.
